The 1-2-3 method needs to be brought into the restructuring plans as this is the only way forward to ensure the engineers work effectively and with passion, says CEB Engineers Union Secretary Dhammika Wimalaratne.
He made this statement while speaking to The Morning today (16).
"The 1-2-3 method is something I will be discussing with Minister Kanchana Wijesekera today. It is simple logic, which all engineers will agree on as well. The engineers who I have already spoken to about this method have agreed with me and we feel this is the best way forward. The 1-2-3 method is basically to recruit 1 person, with double (2) the salary and get 3 times the word done. With then, the total man-power will do down, proffesional employees will be happy and the work at the CEB is done effectively and efficiently," said Wimalaratne.
He further noted that the CEB has over 26,000 employees who are government paid and he, in his opinion, states that a reduction in staff would help in cost cutting excess expenses.
