Another 1,082 individuals were arrested yesterday (19) for failing to adhere to health protocols and quarantine regulations while in public, Police Media Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana stated.
The offences for which the individuals were arrested for include failure to wear face masks in public, not maintaining social distancing, and flouting quarantine regulations.
So far, a total of 40,674 arrests have been made in regard to the violation of quarantine laws since last October.
