Another 500,000 doses of Oxford AstraZeneca vaccines, which was donated by India, will be brought to the island in the next two weeks, Lalith Weeratunga, the Chief of the Presidential Task Force on the Procurement of COVID Vaccine said yesterday.
"Due to the complications in supplying the vaccine, we are still waiting to confirm when the next 500,000 doses will be received. But, according to the information I have, the Indian Government has also promised to intervene in this. I am confident that we will get the remaining 500,000 doses within two weeks.,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Covid vaccines have been given to more than 750,000 people in Sri Lanka.
