The Police have arrested 12,465 persons so far for violating curfew rules, according to DIG Ajith Rohana.
1500 individuals have been arrested for violating curfew during the 24 hour window which ended at 6 am today.
3100 vehicles have been seized by the police during the curfew period.
The Police have warned that curfew violators will be arrested without a warrant and that bail will not be granted to those who have been arrested.
Seized vehicles will be only released once the Coronavirus threat is eliminated, the Police said.
