Sixteen deaths caused by the inclement weather situation were reported as of 7 p.m. yesterday (6), the Disaster Management Center (DMC) stated last night.
Additionally, the DMC also stated that three people are still reported to be missing, and another five persons are injured.
A total of 270,912 persons have been affected in some form due to the ongoing adverse weather prevailing over Sri Lanka.
The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) had issued landslide warnings to several areas on Saturday (5), which were in effect until 05.30 p.m. yesterday.
