A total of 182 police officers, including 40 elite security personnel, have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and another 2,500 have been placed under quarantine, police said.
Among those infected were 56 members of the Police Special Task Force. Of these, 40 were said to have been attached to elite security.
The police further stated that all officers in the Western Province will be sent for PCR testing.
