The Election Commission (EC) is to appoint a regional health officer for each polling station at the upcoming general election.
EC Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya has said that arrangements have been made to hold the forthcoming general election in line with the health guidelines issued by the relevant authorities.
In order to carry out the polling process in accordance with the health guidelines, the EC has made arrangements to carry out several mock elections, which commenced on Saturday (13) and continued on Sunday (14) as well.
