The Aviation Ministry has announced concessions to operators at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
Accordingly, all operators in the Arrival Duty Free Complex at BIA and hotel, mobile communication, travel services counters have been granted a 3 month rental waive off effective from 19th March 2020.
This is subject to settlement of outstanding payments relevant to agreements up to February 2020, the Aviation Ministry said.
All operators in the Departure/Transit/Pier/Arrival Lobby, walkways, outer porches and advertising franchisers have also been granted the same concession.
Operators at the Air Cargo Village (ACV) have been granted a 50% reduction on monthly rental initially for 3 months from April to June 2020 subject to settlement of all outstanding payments relevant to agreements up to March 2020.
Meanwhile, Private Aircraft operators that have lease agreements at the Ratmalana Airport have also been provided a 3 month rental waive off.
The above concessions will be extended following a review, the Aviation Ministry said.
