A total of 32 personnel who visited the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children (LRH), Borella had tested positive for COVID-19 so far, its Director Dr. G. Wijesuriya said.
He said 20 children and 12 mothers were among the infected patients.
Dr. Wijesuriya said one doctor attached to the hospital was also tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday.
“However, the doctor has not contracted the virus from the hospital. We have placed two of his associates at the hospital under quarantine,” he said.
He requested the people not be afraid to visit any hospital. “Simply because there are COVID-19 cases being reported, we have not suspended our services. If you are sick, don’t wait at home, visit the nearest hospital,” he said.
