45 returnees test positive for Covid-19

The National Operations Centre for the Prevention of Covid-19 stated that 45 Sri Lankan returnees have been found to be infected with the Covid-19 virus. These 45 returnees were among 212 infected people who were detected following PCR tests conducted in Sri Lanka over a 24-hour period ending at 6am today (16). Of the 212 people detected with the virus, 33 are from the Kurunegala District, 32 from Kalutara District and 31 from the Gampaha District. The Government stated that even though returnees are testing positive, the repatriation process will continue.
