L B Finance PLC has appointed Anandhiy Krisnajina Gunawardhana as Chairperson with effect from 9th September 2019, the company announced in a stock exchange filing today (9th).
She replaces Mrs. Shirani Jayasekara who retired in August after completing 9 years as a Director of L B Finance.
Gunawardhana was an Independent Non-Executive Director of the Board till her appointment and was first appointed to the Board in 2013.
She is an Attorney-at-Law and a Partner of Julius and Creasy, Attorneys-at-Law and Notaries Public. She graduated from the University of Colombo’s, Faculty of Law in 1995 and is a Fulbright Scholar and was awarded the Master of Laws (LL.M. with Distinction) by Georgetown University, Washington DC, in May 2000. Thereafter, she served a seven month internship with the International Monetary Fund’s Legal Department in Washington D.C. Her areas of specialisation are Corporate and Commercial Law, Mergers and Acquisitions.
