527 persons have been arrested by the police during the last 25 days for not wearing face masks and violating social distancing rules, police spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.
Police started arresting those who not wear face masks and violating social distancing rules since 30 October, two weeks after the regulations were gazetted under quarantine and prevention of diseases ordinance.
62 out of the total suspects, were arrested during the last 24 hours, DIG Rohana said.
They will be produced before the court under the quarantine and prevention of diseases ordinance, he said.
