568 quarantined students faced GCE A/Ls: Ministry

A total of 568 students who were undergoing quarantine sat for the Advanced Level examination that was concluded today, the Education Ministry said.

At the commencement of the GCE Advanced Level examination this year, nine students appeared for the examination while being quarantined due to Covid, and the number of students who were quarantined gradually increased to 568. Twenty-seven students who were infected with Covid at the IDH Hospital, one student at the Panagoda Army Hospital and one student at the Mulleriyawa Hospital sat for the examination.

In particular, 12 Special Examination Centers were set up for students in Minuwangoda, Gampaha, Ja-Ela, Seeduwa and Ekala areas, with support from Examiners and other parties to conduct examinations at those examination centers and for hospitalized students.
