Six military officers who had been diagnosed with dengue fever while in self-quarantine had now recovered, The Sunday Morning learnt.
Army Media Spokesman Brigadier Chandana Wickramasinghe, speaking to The Sunday Morning, said that a total of six officers had come down with dengue fever a few weeks ago.
“This occurred about two to three weeks ago when the rains started. Six officers who were under quarantine had low platelet counts. They were in two locations in Colombo but were later relocated,” the Brigadier said.
He noted that thus far, no new dengue patients have been reported from the military.
“Those were the only cases so far. No one in quarantine or otherwise has contracted dengue fever,” Brigadier Wickramasinghe said.
