Minister of State Sudarshini Fernandopulle says that 600,000 doses of the Russian-made Sputnik V Covid vaccine will be delivered to Sri Lanka within the next two weeks.
The State Minister stated this while participating in a government media briefing.
Speaking further the Minister of State stated that the 'Sputnik V' vaccine should be stored at a temperature of minus 20 degrees Celsius.
Fernandopulle said the vaccine should be taken out of storage and given to the public within two hours.
"So far 11,334 have been successfully vaccinated at the Colombo, Gothatuwa and Kolonnawa Medical Officers' Offices and when the reports are sent to Russia, we will receive 600,000 doses of Sputnik V in two weeks," she said.
