Carrier, one of the world’s oldest and most popular air conditioner brands, opened its new office at the Colombo World Trade Centre yesterday (28^th), with the aim of enhancing their services and product offering to the Sri Lankan market. Carrier is a fully owned subsidiary of United Technologies International Corporation Asia (Pvt) Ltd (UTC), and operates in Sri Lanka through Carrier Aircon Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, which offers air-conditioning products based on Carrier and Toshiba brands manufactured using Japanese technology. UTC Climate Controls and Security Indian Region, Managing Director Arun Bhathia said he expects to offer the ideal Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) solutions to Sri Lankan market with the opening of the new office. “Carrier has been focused on Sri Lanka for full-fledged operations to serve its customers. CAL will provide customized products, installation and after sales services with the use of data analytics that include prognostics for higher energy optimization.” UTC global channel network has offices in US, China, France, Argentina, India and Singapore, which are markets that focus heavily on energy efficiency, with products that cater to hospitality, commercial and residential sectors. UTC Climate Controls and Security Indian Region, Marketing Director Farokh Madan explained that Sri Lanka has a growing demand for HVAC segments, chillers, ducted, cassette and Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) units. “The demand is for durable and sustainable solutions,” said Madan.
