The adverse weather conditions that developed over the past week have affected 14,260 persons in eight districts and resulted in four deaths.
Strong winds impacted 11,748 persons from the Galle District, causing partial damage to 144 households, full damage to two households, and partial damage to three commercial properties.
Meanwhile, drought has settled in, in eight districts, impacting 149,486 persons. Out of the eight districts, six are facing drinking water shortage, for which the Disaster Relief Centre, in mediation with the district secretariats, is supplying drinking water, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC)'s situation report as of noon yesterday (21) recorded.
