The Attorney General Dappula de Livera has directed the Acting IGP Senior DIG C.D. Wickramaratne to obtain warrants from court and arrest former Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake, former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran, Director of Perpetual Treasuries Limited (PTL) Arjun Aloysius, Chief Executive Officer of PTL Kasun Palisena & several others.
According to the Attorney General’s Coordinating Officer, State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne the order was issued on charges of conspiracy, criminal misappropriation, cheating and market manipulation in respect of bond auctions of March 2016.
Aloysius and Palisena were previously arrested and remanded and later granted bail, while Mahendran remains in hiding despite measures for extradition in play.
