Attorney General (AG) Dappula de Livera has informed the Supreme Court that he is not in a position to appear for Election Commission(EC) and its members in a Fundamental Rights petition case.
AG's Coordinating officer State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne said the petition had been filed at the Supreme Court challenging the date set for the General Election.
Several FR petitions were filed before the SC in the last several weeks challenging the date set for the General Election.
