The Attorney General(AG) has sought clearance from relevant authorities to open the AG's Department in order to resume work, the AG's Coordinating Officer State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne said today (24).
The request comes after PCR tests carried out on private security officers have come back negative for Covid-19.
A lady security officer attached to the AG’s Department had tested positive for COVID-19 at the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH) in Angoda last week.
Following the incident, the AG's Department was closed off and security officers who supposedly had contact with the lady security officer were subject to PCR tests.
Steps were also taken by the Colombo Municipal Council to disinfect the premises.
