Air pollution levels down; likely to increase by 13 Nov: DMC

08 Nov 2019

The Disaster Management Centre(DMC) today said air pollution in Colombo has reduced to a certain extent, but predicts that it could increase by a small percentage by the 13 of this month. DMC Director General Dharmasiri Weerathunga said there was nothing to fear about with regard to this condition. He advised the public to stay alert on relevant notifications and instructions issued by the authority. Air pollution in Colombo had risen to more than double its normal levels in the past few days. The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) suspects prevailing severe air pollution in New Delhi, India as one of the causes for Colombo's air pollution levels.
