All 11 bodies of those deceased following the Mahara Prison clash were identified by their family members today (10), stated Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana.
"All the bodies recovered from the Mahara Prison were kept at the morgue at the Ragama Hospital since the 29th of November. By today, all 11 bodies were identified by relatives of the deceased," he stated.
Furthermore, he stated that a five member panel has been appointed to conduct the autopsies of the bodies. The committee consists of four consultant Judicial medical officers and one ballistic expert from the Government Analysis Department.
It has also been revealed that all 11 had been arrested for drug related offences.
