Sri Lanka has decided to temporarily close all cinemas in the country due to the coronavirus pandemic situation. Chairman of the National Film Corporation of Sri Lanka Jayantha Dharmadasa says that all cinemas in the country will be temporarily closed until October 31, as per the instructions of the Health Ministry due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation in the country. Cinemas nationwide had reopened on June 27 after being shut for over 2 months due to the the COVID-19 pandemic, which has once again seen a spike in cases.
