Anika clinches Colombo C’ship tennis title

Photo Ishan Wanniarachchi[/caption] The 105th Colombo Championships Super ‘A’ Grade tennis tournament 2020 at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) Playing Section clay courts in Colombo saw Anika Seneviratne of Ladies’ College clinching the coveted women’s open singles titles when she beat Savini Jayasuriya 7/5, 3/6, 6/3 on Saturday (13). This is the second time Seneviratne, the reigning Sri Lanka women’s tennis champion, won the Colombo Championship women’s singles title. Meanwhile, Vibuda Wijebandara and Savith Weerasinghe won men’s doubles title, also on Saturday, beating Thehan Wijemanne and Chathurya Nilaweera in the final to a score of 6/7 (7/1), 6/4, 10/7.
