Annual Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between international, local NGOs and the Government on demining were signed yesterday at the auditorium of the State Ministry of Rural Housing, Construction and Building Materials Industry Promotion.
On the instructions of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, the demining programme is currently being implemented under the direction of Indika Anuruddha, State Minister of Rural Housing, Construction and Building Materials Industrial Development.
The demining programme is under the direct supervision of State Minister Indika Anuruddha, who recently visited the Muhamalai area in Kilinochchi. The government hopes to complete demining by 2022.
