Another 23 inmates at the Welikada Prison tested positive for COVID-19 today, the Commissioner General of Prisons said.
He said the infected inmates would be sent to the Welikanda Hospital which is dedicated for COVID-19 patients.
Six inmates and an officer at the Prison were tested positive for the virus yesterday.
