A 63-year-old male from Imbulgoda has passed away from COVID-19 infection at the Apeksha Hospital, Maharagama increasing COVID-19 death toll to 46 in the country.
According to the Government Information Department, leukemia and respiratory complications had contributed to the death of the victim.
A PCR test conducted posthumously had shown that he had contracted COVID-19.
