By Order of the Hon. President of the Court of Appeal, the Registrar of the Court of Appeal stated today (02) that cases which were scheduled to be mentioned before all Divisions of the Court of Appeal from 3rd May to 7th May 2021 will not be taken up in open court as scheduled. This decision has been made as a precautionary measure to prevent and control the spread of Covid-19. Accordingly, the next date on which the said cases will be mentioned will be notified in due course. It was also mentioned that all interim orders and orders directing the Respondent(s) to maintain the status quo issued by the Court of Appeal in any of the above cases shall stand extended until the next date of each such case. Any party affected by such extensions may file a motion with notice to the other party, moving that such matters should be taken up on an urgent basis However, all other cases listed for support, argument or inquiry will be taken up as scheduled in accordance with the Daily List published on the website of the Court of Appeal. Litigants will only be allowed to enter the Court if their presence is required by counsel. All parties entering the Court have been requested to strictly follow all health guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health.
