Army Commander visits Jaffna Security Forces HQ to get security and Covid update

Acting Chief of Defence Staff and Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva today visited the Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna (SFHQ-J) to get an update on the security situation in the North and to asses Covid-19 prevention activities.

According to Army Media Spokesperson, Brigadier Chandana Wickramasinghe said the Army Commander visited the Head Quarters along with Defence Secretary Maj. Gen. (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne,  Navy Commander Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva,  Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias  and Acting IGP C.D. Wicramarathna.

Wickramasinghe said the Army Commander met with SF Commander Jaffna, SF Commander Killiocchi, and SF Commander Mullativu to asses the security situation following certain incidents that had taken place in several areas in the North.
