Court of Appeal delays verdict on bail request by Director, Medical Supplies Division
Body: The Court of Appeal (CA) has postponed the verdict on the bail request made by Dr. Kapila Wickramanayake, the Director of the Medical Supplies Division (MSD).
Appeals Court judge D.N. Samarakoon was expected to deliver the decision today; however, it is now scheduled for 30 April.
Dr. Wickramanayake is currently in remand custody over allegations related to substandard immunoglobulin imports. His lawyers filed a petition seeking to declare the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court's decision to remand him as unlawful and requesting bail for his release.
