The Colombo District Court has delivered an interim injunction preventing former President Maithripala Sirisena from functioning as the chairman of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP).
The order was issued concerning a plaint filed by former SLFP executive committee member Montague Sarathchandra.
Accordingly, the interim injunction will be effective until the completion of the hearing of the plaint.
This is the second interim injunction to be issued by the Colombo District Court, barring Sirisena from functioning as the SLFP chairman.
The previous court order was delivered in a case filed by former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga.
