Sri Lanka is set to establish a National Teachers Council aimed at enhancing teacher professionalism and quality through continuous development.
Following extensive discussions with stakeholders in the education sector, a preliminary draft has been prepared.
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal from President Ranil Wickremsinghe and the Minister of Education, Susil Premajayantha to instruct the Legal Draftsman to prepare a bill for the council's establishment based on the draft.
