A luxury bus bound for Colombo from Jaffna was engulfed in flames in the early hours of today (30) in Madurankuli, Puttalam.
No injuries were reported despite the bus being full of passengers.
However, belongings of some passengers were destroyed in the sudden blaze.
The fire departments of Puttalam Municipal Council (MC) and Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Palavi were able to successfully extinguish the fire.
However the bus was completely destroyed by the time the fire was brought under control.
