The Leader of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) and National People’s Power (NPP) and Opposition Parliamentarian Anura Kumara Dissanayake, urged the main Parliamentary Opposition Party, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) to confirm a date before 20 May for the proposed debate on the policies of both the Parties on economic issues.
While addressing a May Day rally on Wednesday (1 May), he said: “That SJB’s nagging. They are a constant bother, calling us for a debate. We gave him (SJB and Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa) four days. Now, he says that he is busy on all those four days, including the nights. Then, we asked him to give us a date before 20 May. We are ready for any day because only then can we put an end to this nagging.”
