In response to recent media queries and social media discussions about Indian companies reportedly taking over visa issuance services at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Colombo, the Indian High Commission has clarified the situation.
A spokesperson for the Indian High Commission stated that the companies mentioned in these reports are not Indian-based nor are they affiliated with India in any way.
Contrary to the circulated information, these companies are headquartered elsewhere, and any association with India in this matter is deemed inaccurate and unwarranted.
The clarification aims to address the misunderstanding and misrepresentation surrounding the involvement of Indian entities in the visa issuance operations at BIA, underscoring that these reports do not align with the factual situation.
