The Asgiri and Malwathu Chapters have donated a sum of Rs 10 m to the COVID-19 Healthcare and Social Security Fund.
The donation was made when President Gotabaya Rajapaksa called on the venerable Mahanayake Theros today (28) to discuss the measures taken by the government to curb the spread of the coronavirus in the country.
Following the meeting, Venerable Mahanayaka Thero of the Asgiriya chapter, Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thero and Venerable Mahanayaka Thero of the Malwathu chapter, Thibbotuwawe Sri Sumangala Mahanayake Thero donated Rs. 5 m each to the fund.
Meanwhile, the Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela donated Rs.10 m COVID-19 fund.
