The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank has expressed willingness to lend 160 million US dollars to Sri Lanka, according to Finance Minister Ali Sabry.
Meanwhile, he also noted that China said it will support Sri Lanka in its negotiation with the International Monetary Fund.
Earlier, the Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka said that Sri Lanka’s decision to move forward with the IMF will have an effect on the country’s earlier financial agreements with China.
