The attendance of students in the Western Province following the reopening of schools today has been deemed satisfactory by the Provincial Director of Education P. Srilal Nonis.
He stated that all schools had resumed activities while adhering to social distancing and other health guidelines.
However, the Provincial Director stated that the school transport officers had made several complaints on the difficulty of bringing children to school in groups, and added that a measure will be taken in this regard soon.
Meanwhile, Minister of Education G. L. Pieris stated that all parents should send their children to school as the adherence of all health guidelines are being monitored by the authorities.
