Attorney-at-Law S. A. Dilrukshi has been appointed as the Legal Draftsman by the Legislative Drafting Department.
The appointment was made by the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Justice said.
She previously worked as an additional legislator in the Legislative Drafting Department.
Drafting laws to amend new laws and existing laws in three languages, making statements on the aims and reasons for such laws, revising support laws presented by the relevant Ministry or Authority, also appearing in Parliament during debates on Bills and Parliamentary elections are the main functions of the Legislative Drafting Department. They are also required to attend the meetings of the Parliamentary Select Committees when the Bills of the Committees are being discussed.
