Thirteen Sri Lankans who attempted to illegally migrate to Australia by boat were deported to the island today (Aug 16). The illegal immigrants who are said to be from Chilaw, had sailed to Australia in multi-day fishing trawler. The group had arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) at around 6:30 a.m. today. Immigration officials of BIA handed over the group to the Criminal Investigation Department(CID) for further investigations.
