Bangladeshi passenger flights to Colombo soon

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have agreed to launch Bangladeshi flights to Colombo in the near future to cater to the growing demand for air travel between the two countries, The Morning Business learns. Recognising the importance of enhanced air connectivity, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa announced this agreement during his joint state visit to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Furthermore, the Prime Minister also highlighted significant opportunities in the tourism industry, especially in the regional tourism industry, with a primary focus on joint ventures in tourism, marketing, and promotion; Buddhist tourism and the private sector; and involving tourism operators and hospitality stakeholders in both countries. Moreover, the leaders of the two countries have agreed to work towards reaching a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). In this context, Bangladesh has proposed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on luxury cruise liners for tourism between the two countries.
