The Gampaha High Court has acquitted Former Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa and Thiru Nadesan from the Malwana property case today (03).
The case was filed over the alleged misappropriation of public funds which were then used to construct a large mansion in the Malwana area.
The Attorney General had earlier served Rajapaksa with three indictments over the matter, including for the purpose of purchasing the 16 acre plot of land which the mansion was built on.
