A beggar from the Anuradhapura town has tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, confirmed the Anuradhapura OIC.
" A special operation was carried out yesterday (08) afternoon to detect 81 more beggars in Anuradhapura with whom he associated with and take them for quarantine," he stated.
Further, he stated that the Anuradhapura Municipal Council has taken steps to arrest and quarantine 81 beggars in Anuradhapura with the assistance of the Police.
The beggar (80) was diagnosed with the COVID-19 virus, and he is currently undergoing treatment at Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital.
