HNB sues Wolters Kluwer Australia for software contract breach

Hatton National Bank PLC has instituted legal proceedings against Wolters Kluwer Financial Services Australia (Pty.) Ltd. (WKFS) to seek recovery of approximately $ 500,000 which the bank had paid to the said company for the implementation and commissioning of an automated financial software.

HNB has also prayed for relief from courts in the form of damages valued at $ 2.82 million or the Sri Lankan rupee equivalent, the bank announced in a press release.

The case was called before Commercial High Court on Tuesday (18) as part of preliminary hearings in relation to the alleged breach of contract by the Australian IT firm.

HNB first commenced legal action over the dispute on 20 February 2019.
