The Chief Incumbent of the Manelwatta Vihara in Bollegala, Kelaniya, Bodagama Chandima Thera, donated a stock of medical and healthcare equipment worth Rs.15 million to help measures that are being taken to contain the spread of COVID-19, the President's Media Division said today.
The Thera symbolically handed over the equipment to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat this morning (25).
State Minister Channa Jayasumana, Principal Advisor to the President Lalith Weeratunga, Secretary to the Ministry of Health Major General (retired) Sanjeewa Munasinghe, Government Medical Officers' Association President Dr. Anuruddha Padeniya and the members of the Association were also present.
