Brew 1867 by Dilmah opens down Flower Road

09 Sep 2019

By Chenelle Fernando Recalled as the big brother of the outlets already located down Nawam Mawatha and WTC, Brew 1867 by Dilmah which launched on 31 August down Flower Road is the newest venture of the group. It reflects the grab-and-go concept to deliver nothing but the best options to its busy customers. The cafe opened its doors to the public with the cutting of the ribbon by Dilmah Founder Merril J. Fernando, accompanied by his son, Dilmah and Brew 1867 CEO Dilhan Fernando. We were delighted to find out that 1867 was the year that Ceylon coffee gave way to Ceylon tea, and over a century later, both tea and coffee are reuniting at Brew 1867 by Dilmah to offer its patrons the best of both worlds. Customers will be able to get their hands on some of the delectable treats offered by them all week long (7 p.m.-9 p.m. during weekdays and 9 a.m.- 9 p.m. on weekends). Drinks inspired by brewing Ceylon’s finest tea such as coladas, matcha slush, and lattes are the cafe’s signature drinks. Apart from this, customers will also be able to treat themselves to an indulgent variety of sweet and savoury options to dine in or take away, all for affordable prices; it really renders value for money. Scrutinising the neatly kept shelves of food further, we were ecstatic to have stumbled upon a mouth-watering range of desserts encompassing tiramisu, cheesecake, chocolate biscuit pudding, cakes, and cupcakes. The venue and its interior itself reflect work, meeting, and lounging spaces, granted the venue has that undisputed café-like ambience one would long for. Unlike the outlet located at Nawam Mawatha, not only is this spacious, but it will also be open on all seven days of the week with each day offering its customers a special dish of the day. Head over to the cafe today and treat yourself to Sunday’s special – mutton pilaf rice Rs. 550.
