
The Bribery Commission has filed a case at the Permanent High Court Trial at Bar against two former Government officials for soliciting bribes.
The case which was filed against the President's former Chief of Staff I.H.K. Mahanama and the former State Timber Corporation Chairman P. Dissanayake were accused of being involved in accepting bribes from an Indian businessman.
The two persons were arrested in July 2018, for accepting the bribe from the businessman pledging to aid them to obtain proper approval required to attain certain machinery and building space he needed for projects.
