Elevate together with The Voice by Ishan De Lanerolle presented Rachel Brohier, Aanya Tiwari, and Aaron Pathinather live in concert on 28 July at Access Towers II. The young trio took the stage with such flair and sang with immense passion. The crowd, which was first treated to a mocktail, gathered at the ballroom on the 28th floor, and needless to say, the stunning view worked its magic and the setting of the evening was crafted to perfection. Despite singing being the only thing they had in common, the trio stayed true to themselves with their own style and flair. We found the song selection for the evening to be fitting as all members of the audience, from the youngest to the oldest, were evidently having a splendid time. “The song selections by the girls were fantastic and credit goes to them for doing this and putting up a good show,” shared Aaron. Rachel took the stage with fan favourites such as “Don’t You Remember” by Adele and “The Other Side” featured in The Greatest Showman. Her voice hit the right notes and managed to capture the audience right through to the very end. “Ever since I can remember, I’ve been singing the next song for years ever since I watched the movie, and I’ve grown as a person singing it musically and in other aspects,” Rachel said when she captured the audience during her performance of “Part of Your World” featured in The Little Mermaid. With her unique voice and wide ranging vocals, Aanya drew everyone's attention through her performance. “Cough Syrup” by Young the Giant and “All I Ask” by Adele are to name a few. “The context is that we love in a world full of ups and downs, and most of the time, we come across conflict. So, our paradise island Sri Lanka needs unity now more than ever before,” expressed Aanya when she sang “Give Me Some Sunshine” in both Hindi and English. Interestingly, Aaron, the guest performer for the evening, charmed the audience with an original titled “Please Don’t Go”. Taking the audience through its background story, he said: “This is an original I wrote about three years ago and uncle Ishan gets me to sing it everywhere I go. A small backstory about this song – I wrote it when I was broken-hearted.” Commenting on the success of their concert, Rachel added: “I think it went really well. I couldn't have asked for it any other way. I'm super proud of us for putting up a concert of such high standard.” Aaron too shared that the concert went beyond their expectations when the audience happened to occupy almost every seat within the arena, saying: “The show went smoothly as planned and it turned out to be a full house, which we didn't really expect.” The Sunday Morning was the official print media partner for the concert.
