A captivating event took place at the Mansion, Movenpick Hotel, Colombo on 27 July – the RF-Designing Dreams showcase.
This was set up to unveil the sensational and phenomenal seamstress herself, who is now entirely changing the game of bridal wear as we know it.
The evening began with the sweet melodic voice of Francesca Mudannayake, aka. Q, singing a tune which set the right mood and led to the beginning of the fashion show that showcased a number of pieces under the theme of affordable luxury.
The line consisted of evening, casual, and bridal wear all within the price range of Rs. 10,000-15,000 and not more, keeping true to its theme.
At the end of a breathtaking collection, all the pieces of which were seamed to perfection with the ideal colour to match, the brains behind the collection made an appearance; the humble and talented Rhona Fernando.
Having been a fashion designer for over 15 years, and having worked with a number of famous designers and dress boutiques, Rhona has her own talent and expertise in this specific field. Having lost her son a few years ago, Rhona is a strong-willed mother who has overcome difficult obstacles in her path.
Her creations focus mainly on affordability, and are inspired by classical clothing, consisting of items you can wear for casual evening functions or the grandest of them all. Each piece, handcrafted by Rhona herself, entails beautiful embroidery, making each outfit stand out on its own as a masterpiece.
