Organised primarily for the purpose of launching Jetwing Seven’s brand new high tea menu, Ladies High Tea Buffet held on 1 August from 3.30 p.m. to 7 p.m. was a special event hosted by the restaurant. The high tea featured a collaboration with Heritage Teas, which provided an exquisite tea tasting experience, an activity all the ladies found quite entertaining. Despite the launching event going on till 7 in the evening, the high tea menu is scheduled to be available from 3.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. throughout the week. High tea at Jetwing will prove to be a truly delightful experience as it is hosted at its famous rooftop restaurant Ward 7, and Ward 7 is no ordinary rooftop bar; it is set on a gorgeous poolside with the sights of Colombo city surrounding it. The high tea, as of now, is priced at Rs. 1,900 (net) for two persons. However, speaking to Food and Beverage Manager Kanishka Kulathunga, we learnt that there is a possibility of the rate changing with the expansion of the range offered. The high tea menu is pretty abundant in options, with a host of delicious and delicately prepared savouries ranging from adorable vegetarian sliders to meat wraps – that’s a lot of delectable food on the table. Then, of course, there are the desserts. While featuring some of the typical high tea staples like fruit tarts, they also include some great cookies and cream pastries, and there’s sure to be something for everyone. While the event hosted a buffet, the high tea menu would feature a tiered platter with shareable portions for two from each item. Kanishka added that due to the highly positive response for the event, there will be another special event – a second edition of the same – for anyone who missed out on this experience. He also mentioned that as Jetwing Seven is constantly buzzing with activity and if you were on the lookout for something to do on Saturday, 31 August, Restaurant 57, Jetwing Seven’s main area restaurant, will be hosting the third edition of their “classical evening”, a night of authentic Sri Lankan food and live music.
